I had a hilarious moment today while learning on the lathe. As I’m trying to get my setup right, I realized my safety goggles kept fogging up, and I looked like a complete goof trying to wipe them while balancing a piece of metal! Anyone else have funny moments involving safety gear? It’s all about staying safe and learning, but man, the struggle is real.
Oh, I feel you on the fogging! I started using a headband that offers some ventilation — it helped a ton… Have you thought about trying a different style of goggles? They make that difference sometimes.
Foggy goggles are the Machinist’s version of getting caught in the rain without an umbrella! I’ve found that a common solution is to use a sprinkle of dish soap on the lenses — it really helps reduce fog. Have you tried any hacks like that, @ava73?
I’ve had the same issue trying to wipe my goggles while working on the lathe — maybe trying out a different style could help — any suggestions out there? ?
