Chasing runout on a Haas VF-2

I’m seeing 0.0007" TIR at 3" out on a ground test bar in our Haas VF-2 and getting 5–8% spindle load spikes around 8,000 rpm on 6061; cleaned the taper and swapped ER32 holders/collets, no change… Before I call bearings, what’s your quick go/no-go to split holder vs spindle — blue the taper, check TIR right at the nose, or pull a drawbar force reading?

I’d grab a drawbar force reading; low force mimics your ‘8,000 rpm’ spikes. See any change warm vs cold?
