Got two callbacks this week after attaching a one-pager listing machines (Haas VF2, Mazak QT) and a photo of a CMM report with the application. @alexander_and67 speed tip is solid — I set SMS alerts for ‘CNC’ + ‘Mazak’ within 25 miles and call the shop within 24 hours; small caveat: most ‘remote’ listings are really CAM or field service, not on-machine. Treat it like chasing a tight tolerance — timing matters.
Applied within 30 minutes on a “real-time” post and got a same-day shop tour after I attached a one-page setup sheet (Fusion 360) showing tool numbers, SFM for 17–4, and my best cycle time on a VF-3. , mass-blast apps don’t work for me — tweaking that sheet to their controller (Fanuc vs Haas NGC) seems to flip callbacks. If you’re eyeing the remote roles, a quick Loom of your programming workflow has helped me too.
I’ve had the best luck attaching one photo of a finished 4140 part with a note — ±0.0003 on bores, Ra 32, 12% cycle-time cut — and hitting submit within an hour; the “apply promptly” part is real. Small caveat: if I’m late, I call the shop because these “real-time” posts sometimes auto-expire while they’re still interviewing.
Moving fast helps, @thompson30 — I still “apply promptly,” but I attach a single screenshot of my Renishaw OMP40 probing call (G65 P9811) plus an AS9102 FAI snippet so they see I validate on-machine. For remote listings, I note the shop-cam rig I use to stream checks during prove-outs, which seems to tip the scales.
